Lincoln Navigator is a large sport utility vehicle manufactured by Ford Motor’s and it is specially manufactured for luxury class buyers. The production of Lincoln Navigator begun in 1997 and Lincoln/Ford started their marketing in the year 1998, and Ford Motors launched the car as a 1998 model. The navigator was the first sport utility vehicle for Lincoln and it also has the four wheel drive option.

The Lincoln Navigator shared the mechanical, other concepts of Ford Expedition during its initial days of production. Other factors such as interior materials, body styling, and front fascia differ from the Expedition.

First Generation (1997-2002)

The Lincoln Navigator was first introduced in the year 1997 and it was the first SUV from Ford-Lincoln collaboration.

The Navigator differs from Expedition in several aspects; for instance, the Lincoln Navigator has unique taillights and headlights, waterfall type grille, a traditional hood, wheels with different styles, and stylish door handles. The redesigned versions have been released in the year 2003. The redesigned versions have normal exterior look with the front and roof panels unchanged. The redesigned versions with a long water fall shaping chrome grille, headlights and modified door handles made up of chrome have an appreciable appearance.

In 2007, the Lincoln Navigator is redesigned with fresh look and few medications in mechanical features. The Navigator was presented at an auto show held in Chicago. The navigator features more distinctive styling and it is introduced with fascias at rear and front and side cladding. The reddened model comprise of complex design of headlights and lower grille with fod lights installed.

Current Generation Lincoln Navigator

The current generation Lincoln Navigator is a full size SUV, equipped with advanced gadgetry, sophisticated controls, and high end features. The Lincoln Navigator’s is powered by 5.4-L- V8 engine, mated to a 6-speed auto-transmission. The buyers have an optional four wheel drive system and also optional 2-wheel drive system. The four wheel drive provides you both the low range and high range gearing along with the two wheel and four wheel driving models.
